Importer
The desktop app and command line that check a game, write its manifest and copy it to the SD card or the Switch.
The importer (importer/rsl_import.py and its window, rsl_import_gui.py) needs only Python 3.9+ and its standard library. It never runs game code, never unpickles anything, never changes the source folder or archive, and does not decrypt or unpack .rpa archives.
- Desktop app The importer window on macOS and Windows: the Library, the Import page and the target.
- Command line Report on a game, export it to an SD card or upload it to the Switch, from a terminal.
- Checks and statuses What the importer looks at, the status it gives a game, the Switch performance checks, and how archives are kept safe.
- Upload over FTP Send a game to the Switch over Wi-Fi with sphaira's FTP server, without taking out the SD card.
- Covers and backgrounds How the importer makes a game's cover and background, and how to choose your own on the computer or on the Switch.
- Non-ASCII file names Why files with Japanese or accented names are packed into an archive, and which files cannot be.
